But it is not only our decisions which are affected by this, but all the decisions made by nature... here is a world where you're poor. One where your rich. One where no fish was brave enough to crawl up on land. One where the world ended in nuclear war...

Here is a world where Thomas and Martha Wayne didn't die. Here is one where Bruce died with them... and here, here is a parallel Earth where Thomas and Martha Wayne died, but Rachel Wayne survived.

(There is a minor crossover, starting around Chapter 23, with my Sherlock BBC fanfic, Illuminating The World. You don't need to read that fanfic to enjoy this story however.)

When Bruce Wayne comes back from the dead the Daily Planet sends Clark Kent to cover the story. On what is supposed to be his last night in Gotham Clark manages to (litterally) run into Bruce Wayne and discovers that Gotham has a new hero--one whom the press starts calling "Batman".
