Quick Start Tips
  • Many of you are posting stories that you've already posted on LiveJournal. One of the easiest ways to get your stories into the archive looking the right way is to simply go to your LJ post, select edit, and copy the html-formatted text of your story from LJ to the text box on the archive's story upload form. However, make sure you don't copy any of the LJ-specific tags, such as the LJ-cut. And be sure you have tinyMCE (the WYSIWYG html editor) turned off.

  • You don't need to create an account to read the stories not rated ADULT in the archive, but you will need one to leave a review or to read the ADULT rated stories.

  • Pay careful attention to the various ways you can browse the archive. Stories in this archive have expanded classification categories to make it easier for you to find exactly what you want to read. The Advanced Search feature allows you to search by genre, warnings, story length and characters, but also by other details such as universe (e.g. toonverse or comicverse) and fanfic cliche convention (e.g. memory loss or body-switching).

  • This is a slash archive that also allows pre-slash. Pre-slash is often subject to interpretation, and we leave it to the author to decide whether his or her story is appropriate to be included here. Generally, a story can be safely categorized as "pre-slash" if it focuses primarily on the relationship between Batman and Superman (friendship) while not introducing any serious Het pairings. In short, a Superman-Batman friendship fic is fine as long as it's not Superman/Lois and their good friend Batman.

  • Likewise, Superman/Batman/Other or Superman/Batman, Superman/Other can be archived here. Simply select "Polyamorous" in Genre when you upload the story.

  • Feedback is the lifeblood of fanfic writing and is the only way to ensure authors have the encouragement they need to keep writing. Please use the Contact or Review feature to let them know what you thought.

  • Regarding Word Counts and Story Categories: When posting, you will be asked to classify your story in one of the following categories. Please be careful to choose the one that matches your story:

    • Novels: Stories of 50,000 words or more.
    • Novellas: Stories between 25,000 and 49,999 words.
    • Short Stories: Stories between 1,001 and 24,999 words.
    • Ficlets: Stories between 501 and 1,000 words.
    • Drabbles: Stories between 100 and 500 words.
    • Poetry: All poems, long, short, and in-between.
    • Meta: Nonfiction essays about the characters, their relationship or the various universes.

  • If you have a series to post, please begin by uploading each of the stories in the series individually. Then, choose \"Add New Series\" from your Account Info menu. Once you\'ve created the series, you can add posted stories to it. See the Help page for more details.

  • After creating an account in the system, make sure to EDIT PREFERNCES under your Account Info menu. This will allow you to tell the system to send you notifications when you receive a new review, and it also allows you to select a global age statement so you don\'t have to be bothered with the warning pop-ups.

  • A note to Mac users: When using the site, if the instructions call for holding down the Control key, use the Command key instead.
